The crane is a favorite subject of traditional paper folding – origami. Today, the practice of creating origami cranes has come to symbolize a wish for peace, healing, and happiness. It is said that if you fold 1,000 origami cranes, your wishes will come true. Our wish is for childhood cancer to be cured.
That is why Northwestern Mutual has sponsored 1,000 origami crane strands to be made each year. You can create origami crane strands to be donated to a participating Beads of Courage hospital!

Each Kit includes materials to create 2 Origami Crane Strands
MAKE: origami crane bead strands with supplies provided by Beads of Courage.
GIVE: the origami crane strands to Beads of Courage to be given to children in the Beads of Courage Program while receiving treatment for cancer.
Soon, your handmade, beaded origami crane strand will be hung from a child’s IV pole as a symbol of peace, health, and happiness.
