Beloved children's television host Mr. Rogers said that when you see scary things, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping."
Children coping with serious illness see lots of scary things during the course of treatment. We are asking you to Be a Helper to a child coping with serious illness through the simple act of carrying Beads of Courage in your neighborhood.
You don't have to run a marathon or climb Mt. Everest to Carry a Bead! Simply get your Be a Helper Bundle and carry a bead in your neighborhood. We will add you to our Helpers map with a goal of getting 500 kits distributed. That's 1,000 Helpers carrying beads in neighborhoods around the world!
Let's start a movement! Carry a Bead and share your photos on social media using the hashtag #carryabead. We want to see your pets, your people, and the charm of your neighborhood. Together, let's bring beauty to Beads of Courage members hospitalized across the globe.
The beads you carry and return will be given to children on their tough treatment days to encourage them to keep fighting and remind them to always look for the helpers.
The Be a Helper Bundle contains TWO Carry a Bead Kits! You can encourage two Beads of Courage kids yourself, or recruit a friend to Be a Helper, too. Each kit contains colorful beads that we curated especially for this bundle. We want to see these beads in your neighborhood!
$15 covers the cost of materials and shipping direct to you, a cool Beads of Courage Helper Sticker, and a bubble mailer to return the beads you carry. You keep one bead from each kit and the Team Beads of Courage pewter charms with our thanks!
